America 2000

These are the photos taken from the month long tour of America in September 2000.

The trip was based around being in San Francisco for the Folsom Street Fair.   I travelled with Daniel who was my flatmate
in St Kilda at the time.

The tour started in New York  (after 21 hours of flying)  and took us to Boston, Provincetown (on Cape Cod), then to
San Francisco before ending up in Los Angeles.   The following photos were the first photos taken on my new digital
camera so I don't think I had the ability to take 'good' photos at the time.

New York New York

This is not really the Qantas plane we flew on. But it was the same size as the one we had. Melbourne Airport.

Daniel getting excited (or about to fall asleep) as we waited for boarding. Maybe he'd already had his first tammy?

Ooh... this is the hostel we stayed at in the 1st week in New York. It was a sweat box! We didn't stay there again.

Times Square!

We all love Lucy !

MTV at Times Square. Did you see me waving?

Daniel pretending to be lost. I was only one tempted to mug him.

Taken in Central Park. Is that a mosquito on his neck?

Mmmm... donuts!

Andy Pandy! What good timing that brings 2 Wollongong boys together in the Big Apple!

I can't believe I've forgotten the name of the train station. Let's just call it Central Station.

Is that..... Bjork ?

Thump!!

Oh... I guess it was...

The Guggenheim.

I just want to buy some art !

Daniel in a post Guggenheim bliss.

Da boys outside the Guggenheim.

Mmmm... time for some comfort food.

FAO Schwartz toy store.

Oh my god! Is it really her ??

Such a silly photo...

Taxi !

Okay... I know longer own these jeans. I gave them to someone half my age.

Exactly one year before they disappeared.

Wall Street

I don't know what this march was all about. I think an election was coming up.

Boston and Provincetown

Woo Hoo! We're off to Boston on the Amtrak.

Resting up at Margarita's lair. I actually don't remember her name but this place full of VERY old people spooked me.

Admiring Margarita's interior design.

Where's the fire? Downtown Boston.

Kinkos sucking those American dollars out of us.

Shop Shop Shop

An old building.

Another old building. Okay I should know better.

Anthony's Townhouse where we stayed in Boston.

Someone looks happy this morning. How's that breakfast Campari going down?

No photos please..

Bye Bye Boston. We're on our way to P-town!

Boy David. A herion addicted male prostitute I met on the boat. Hey.... those are Daniel's words... not mine!

Provincetown!

This is the guesthouse we stayed at.

Taking advantage of the sun on the 'clothing optional' sundeck.

Wacky shops in P-town

Our guesthouse house boy. More towels!

Someone's been smoking the peace pipe....

Back to New York and Hotel 17

Hotel 17 is famous for all the stars who have stayed there and some films that have been made there.  In fact
we even made a film there.    I think it was called  "Who's that in Daniel's bed?"

Back in New York. The San something festival. Daniel will kill me if I can't come up with the right name for this Italian drunken feast.

This is the same layout as the loft... spooky?

The San Genaro Festival.. I knew I;d get it if I thought about it some more. What time does the show start?

Maniquins at H&M.

I was pretty impressed that H&M decided to have only one store in all of America in New York. Until recently when I found one in a suburban shopping centre in Quincy, Mass.

Who took this photo?

Time to leave Hotel 17. I definitely have to visit the East Village again sometime.

Daniel in an East Village coffee shop.

Hey... I thought a haircut in Chelsea would make me look cool. What happened??

Hotel 17..... many memories...

San Francisco and the Folsom Street Fair

Folsom Street Fair. Why is Daniel grinning?

I love what you've done with the garden Todd.

Who is Daniel talking to? It's time to get our plane back to Melbourne.

Home Sweet Home.... St Kilda

The air is so clean here.
